📋 Key Roles & Responsibilities
The Senior Consultant (Vaccine & Logistics) will play a crucial role in strengthening India's Routine Immunization program. Key responsibilities include:
Logistics & Supply Chain Management:
- Coordination with states/UTs and Government Medical Stores Depots (GMSD) for logistics, inventory, and stock monitoring
- Monitoring to prevent over-stocking and under-stocking of vaccines and supplies
- Coordination with procurement division for timely supply to state consignee points
- Preparation of release orders for GMSDs for supply to states
- Coordination with suppliers for timely delivery as per schedule
International Coordination & Documentation:
- Liaising and follow-up with UNICEF for procurement and supply of commodities
- Follow-up for preparation of customs documents for foreign supplies
- Coordination with domestic logistics partners
Budget & Financial Management:
- Assistance in budget preparation of kind grant according to supplies and available budget
- Preparation of budget break-up in Major and Minor Heads as per GoI finance rules
- Follow-up with states for receiving Vaccine Arrival reports for expenditure booking
- Preparation of supplies and cost evaluation sheets
- Creation of sanctions as per competent authority approval
Program Coordination & Support:
- Coordinate review mechanisms with GMSDs and State/District Vaccine Logistics Managers
- Assist Addl. Commissioner (Immunization) in preparation of strategic plans
- Assist with appraisal of Program Implementation Plans (PIPs)
- Any other work assigned by Addl. Commissioner (Immunization)
