The Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Chandigarh invites applications from eligible candidates for 01 Bank’s Medical Consultant (OBC only) on contract basis (fixed hourly remuneration) for Main Office Building, Central Vista, Sector – 17, Chandigarh. Remuneration & Working Hours

• Remuneration: ₹1,000/- per hour (fixed for contract period).
• Plus ₹1,000/- per month for conveyance & ₹1,000/-/month for mobile charges.
• Duty: Monday to Friday, 09:45 AM to 01:15 PM (subject to change).
• Location: Main Office Building Dispensary, RBI, Chandigarh.
• Period: Three years (no renewal after tenure).

Eligibility Criteria

• MBBS degree from a university recognized by the Medical Council of India.
• Postgraduate degree in General Medicine (if any) is also eligible.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in allopathic system (hospital or clinic) as Registered Medical Practitioner.
• Own dispensary or residence within 30 km of Bank’s dispensary.
• OBC applicants (Non-Creamy Layer only): Must submit latest OBC certificate (after April 1, 2025) with non-creamy layer clause, as per Central List. Check your caste at NCBC.
• Prescribed OBC (Govt of India format) certificate required; deviations/creamy layer documents not accepted.
• Migrants must submit a certificate as per their father's original state (see full rules in notification).

How to Apply (Offline)

1. Download Annex-III Application Form (PDF).
2. Fill the form neatly in English.
3. Enclose self-attested photocopies of certificates: education, experience, OBC/Caste (as per rules), and other necessary documents.
4. Keep all documents in a sealed cover addressed to:
   Regional Director, Reserve Bank of India, Human Resource Management Department, Central Vista, Sector-17, Chandigarh - 160017
5. Super-scribe the cover: "Application for the post of Bank’s Medical Consultant (BMC) on Contract Basis with fixed hourly remuneration".
6. Submit/dispatch to arrive on or before 08 October 2025 (04:00 PM).

Selection Process

• Shortlisting based on eligibility & documents.
• Interview and document verification.
• Final selection subject to medical examination at candidate’s expense.
• Engagement only after fitness, agreement on all contract conditions (Annex-I) and code of conduct (Annex-II).
• Bank may raise eligibility standards to limit shortlisting. Decision of RBI final. No correspondence for those not called for interview.

Key OBC Reservation Rules

• Reservation for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer in Central List) ONLY.
• OBC certificate must show (a) non-creamy layer status (b) correct caste name as per central government list.
• Certificate must be issued on/after 01-04-2025, covering relevant financial years.
• State of father’s origin determines valid OBC certificate for migrants.
• Candidates in creamy layer are not eligible for OBC reservation.

Duties & Terms

• Duties as General Medical Practitioner, for staff, families and retirees, as per contract (Annex-I) and Annex-II.
• Responsible for treatment, emergency care, medical certificates, record-keeping, medical opinion, and house visits for RBI staff.
• Remuneration is all-inclusive during contract; subject to tax.
• No right to permanent job, pension, leave, or superannuation in RBI.
• Obliged to comply with strict code of conduct (see notification).
