- 10th Pass from a recognized Board

Salary Structure & Benefits
Level-1 Salary Structure:
- Basic Pay: ₹18,000 - ₹35,000 per month
- Dearness Allowance (DA): Variable (As per Government of India)
- House Rent Allowance (HRA): 10-35% of Basic Pay

What is the age limit for RRB Group D?

Minimum age is 18 years and maximum age is 33 years. Age relaxation of 5 years is provided to SC/ST candidates and 3 years to OBC candidates. The date of birth should be between 07-01-1993 and 06-01-2008 (for General candidates).
Is there any written test or interview?

Yes, the selection process includes: (1) Computer Based Test (CBT) - objective questions on General Awareness, Arithmetic, and General Science, (2) Physical Fitness Test (PFT) - running and other physical activities, (3) Document Verification, and (4) Medical Examination. There is no interview.
Is this a direct recruitment or contract-based job?

This is a permanent direct recruitment. Selected candidates will be appointed on permanent basis with all benefits, pension, and job security. It is NOT a contract or deputation-based position.
What is the educational qualification required?

Candidates should have passed 10th Class from any recognized Board, OR have an ITI certificate in relevant trade, OR National Apprenticeship Certificate. No higher qualification is required for Group D posts.
What is the salary structure for Group D employees?

The basic pay for Level-1 Group D posts ranges from ₹18,000 to ₹35,000 per month. In addition, you get Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Travel Allowance (TA), Medical Allowance, and various other benefits. The average in-hand salary is around ₹25,000-₹32,000 per month.
What documents are required for application?

Can I apply from any state or specific zones only?

You can apply for any Railway Zone in India. During application, you can select up to 5 preferred zones for posting. Selected candidates will be posted to any zone across India based on Railway requirement. Willingness to work anywhere in India is mandatory.
How much is the application fee?

Application fee is ₹500 for General & OBC candidates, ₹250 for SC & ST candidates, and FREE for Women, PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disability), and Transgender candidates. The fee is non-refundable.
Is there any promotion opportunity in Group D?

Yes, there are excellent promotion opportunities. Group D employees can be promoted to Group C (Level-2) after completing 3-4 years of service with good performance record. Further promotions to higher levels are also possible with experience and qualifications.
When will the results be declared?
