Salary Structure & Benefits
7th CPC Pay Matrix: Academic Level 10
Rationalized Entry Pay: ₹57,700 per month
Pay Band: PB-3 (₹15,600 - ₹39,100) with Academic Grade Pay of ₹6,000
Total Emoluments: Approximately ₹1,00,000 - ₹1,20,000 per month including allowances
Additional Allowances (as per DU/7th CPC norms):
- Dearness Allowance (DA): 46% of basic pay (currently)
- House Rent Allowance (HRA): 24% (X City - Delhi)
- Transport Allowance: ₹3,600 + DA
- Children Education Allowance: ₹2,250 per child (max 2 children)
- Leave Travel Concession (LTC): As per Central Government rules
Career Growth & Promotions:
Assistant Professors in Delhi University colleges have excellent career progression through Career Advancement Scheme (CAS):
- Assistant Professor (Level 10) → Assistant Professor (Senior Scale) (Level 11): After 4 years of service with PhD
- Assistant Professor (Level 11) → Assistant Professor (Selection Grade) (Level 12): After 5 years of service at Level 11
- Associate Professor (Level 13A): After 3 years at Level 12 with requisite publications/API scores
- Professor (Level 14): After 10 years of service as Associate Professor
Recruitment Type & Selection Process
Type of Recruitment: Direct Recruitment
This is a Direct Recruitment through all-India advertisement. It is NOT contract-based, deputation, or walk-in interview.
ARSD College Selection Process:
Step 1: Online Application
Submit online application at rec.uod.ac.in with complete information and required documents.
Step 2: Screening of Applications
Applications are screened based on UGC/DU screening guidelines. Shortlisting based on academic scores, research publications, and API scores.
Step 3: Interview Call
Shortlisted candidates receive interview call letters via email. No TA/DA is paid for attending interview.
Step 4: Selection Interview
Selection is based on performance in the interview only. Academic scores are used only for shortlisting.
Step 5: Document Verification
Candidates must bring original certificates, NOC (if employed), and all testimonials at the time of interview.
Step 6: Final Appointment
Selected candidates receive appointment letter subject to verification of antecedents and medical fitness.
Important Selection Criteria:
✔ Minimum eligibility: Master's degree with 55% marks + NET/PhD (as per UGC exemptions)
✔ Shortlisting: Based on screening guidelines (academic score, publications, experience)
✔ Final Selection: 100% on interview performance
✔ No written test - only interview
Educational Qualification & Eligibility
Minimum Qualification (A or B):
A. Conventional Track:
- Master's degree with 55% marks (or equivalent grade) in concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian University or accredited foreign university.
- Must have cleared National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by UGC/CSIR.
B. PhD Exemption Track:
- PhD degree from top 500 foreign university (QS/THE/ARWU ranking) - NET exempted.
Important Eligibility Notes:
- NET Exemption: Candidates with PhD as per UGC Regulations 2009/2016 are exempted from NET.
- Qualifying Marks: 55% is mandatory; relaxation of 5% for SC/ST/PwBD as per UGC norms.
- Essential Date: Qualifications must be possessed on or before the closing date of application (02 March 2026).
- PhD Weightage: PhD candidates get additional API scores as per screening guidelines.

- English: British Literature, Indian Writing in English, Literary Theory
