📋 Eligibility & Job Snapshot (Card View)
Degree in Law (LLB) from a recognised university.
At least 2 years post‑qualification experience in litigation related matters.
Master’s in Law (LLM) from a recognised university. Experience in Supreme Court, High Court, or CAT will be given weightage.
One year (extendable as per requirement). The consultant must carry their own laptop with legal software.
Up to 55 years as on date of advertisement (27 April 2026).
Own laptop with necessary (non‑pirated) software, and hands‑on experience with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
💵 Salary, Allowances & Professional Environment
- 💰 Monthly Remuneration: ₹80,000 (fixed). Professional Tax / TDS will be deducted as applicable.
- 🏢 No other monetary allowance: No additional perks or allowances are admissible.
- 📈 Growth: Contract extendable based on performance and requirement.
- ⚖️ Work Profile: Legal work and any other work allocated from time to time. Reporting to Joint Secretary (NLS).
🎯 Recruitment Type & Selection Process
Engagement Type: Purely Contractual (not a regular post). Selection: Interview by a team of UPSC officers, followed by verification of documents. Working hours: 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM, with possible extended hours (including weekends). Attendance through Bio‑metric system.
Note: UPSC reserves the right to terminate the contract at any stage without prior notice in case of serious failure or misconduct.
