Indian Army Sports Control Board invites applications from unmarried male & female sportspersons who have excelled at International/Junior/Senior National Championships/Khelo India Games (from 01 Oct 2023 onwards) for Direct Entry Havildar & Naib Subedar (Sports) Intake Ser No 05/2025.
Selection through Trials at designated Army Centres involving Physical Fitness Test, Physical Standards, Skill Test, and Medical Examination. Exceptional talent in 23+ sports disciplines including Athletics, Boxing, Wrestling, Shooting, Kabaddi, Football, Hockey, and more.
Fair & Transparent Selection – No bribes/agents. Merit-based recruitment only. Applications accepted via POST to Army Sports Control Board, New Delhi till 15 Dec 2025 (1700 hrs).

Havildar Eligibility
- Age: 17½-25 Years (Born 31 Mar 2001-01 Apr 2008)
- Education: Matriculation Pass
- Sports: State Medalist National/International Rep/Khelo India Medalist
- Status: Unmarried Only
Naib Subedar Eligibility
- Age: 17½-25 Years (Born 31 Mar 2001-01 Apr 2008)
- Education: Matriculation Pass
- Sports: World/Asian/CWG Medalist/Olympics Rep
- Status: Unmarried Only
Physical Standards (Male)
- Height: 157-170 cm (Region-wise)
- Chest: 5 cm Expansion
- Weight: Proportionate to Height/Age
- PFT: 1.6km Run (5:45 min), Zig-Zag, 9ft Ditch
Waiver possible for exceptional sports talent [file:38].
Physical Standards (Female)
- Height: 162 cm (158 cm NE/Gorkha)
- Chest: 5 cm Expansion
- Weight: Proportionate
- PFT: 1.6km Run (8 min), 10ft Long Jump, 3ft High Jump
Selection Procedure
5-Stage Selection Process
- 1. Application Screening: Shortlisting based on sports achievements (higher achievements prioritized)
- 2. Call Letter: Email notification with trial date/time/venue to shortlisted candidates
- 3. Physical Fitness Test (PFT): 1.6km run, balance, ditch jump (qualifying standards apply)
- 4. Skill Test: Sport-specific trials by expert panels at Army Centres
- 5. Medical Examination: Army medical standards at trial site (Temporary Unfit: 5-day review)

Step 1: Download & Fill Form
- Download application form from www.joinindianarmy.nic.in
- Print on A4 size paper only (non-standard forms rejected)
- Fill in BLOCK CAPITALS exactly as per 10th certificate
- Affix recent passport size photo (not stapled)
- Left thumb impression & signature
Step 2: Attach Documents
- Self-attested copy of Matriculation certificate
- Copy of Aadhaar Card
- All Sports Achievement Certificates (01 Oct 2023 onwards)
- Write your name & sports discipline on back of each certificate
Step 3: Send by POST
