Eligibility Criteria
  • Nationality: Indian citizen, Nepal subject (with certificate of eligibility), or person of Indian origin from Pakistan/Burma/Sri Lanka/East African countries.
  • Age: 20-27 years as on 01 July 2026 (Born between 01 July 1999 and 30 June 2006).
  • Marital Status: Unmarried male only.
  • Education: Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) or Bachelor of Engineering (B.E) in notified engineering streams from a recognized university. Final year candidates can apply if results declared by 01 Jul 2026.
  • CGPA/Marks: Must meet approved cut-off percentage in respective engineering streams.
  • Physical Standards: 2.4 km run in 10 min 30 sec, 40 push-ups, 6 pull-ups, 30 sit-ups, 30 squats (2 sets), 10 lunges (2 sets), swimming fundamentals required.

  • CGPA to marks conversion certificate from university

Selection Process
Shortlist (CGPA) → SSB Interview (5 days) → Medical Examination → Merit List → Joining Letter
  • Stage-1: Shortlisting based on CGPA cutoff percentage (stream-wise) and vacancy-to-call-up ratio.
  • Selection Centre Allotment: Prayagraj (UP), Bhopal (MP), Bengaluru (Karnataka), Jalandhar (Punjab).
  • SSB Interview: 5-day two-stage selection procedure with psychological tests, group tests, and personal interview.
  • Medical Examination: Candidates recommended by SSB undergo medical fitness test as per Army medical standards.
  • Merit List: Based on SSB marks, then age (older candidates ranked higher), then degree percentage.
  • Joining Letter: Issued to successful candidates in order of merit within vacancies, subject to all eligibility criteria.

  6. Upload recent color photograph & signature (JPG format, as per specifications)
  7. Save & Continue at each stage, then Submit after final review
  8. Candidates will receive Application Roll Number after closure (download within 30 mins)
  9. Check email regularly for shortlist notification & SSB call letter
Critical Notes: Submit proof of final year degree by 01 Jul 2026. Any stream name mismatch leads to cancellation. Candidates cannot marry during or after selection until training completes. No hard copies required at application stage. Bring all originals to SSB.

Terms & Conditions
  • Candidates must not marry during training; marriage cancels candidature.
  • Candidates cannot live with parents/guardians during IMA training.
  • Cost of training is government-borne; withdrawal for personal reasons makes candidate liable for refund (₹16,260/week as per 2022 rates).
  • Disciplinary withdrawal or expulsion makes candidate ineligible for disability benefits.
  • All India Transfer liability — refusal to serve anywhere can lead to discharge.
  • Candidates serving in Armed Forces must inform Commanding Officer in writing.

  • Do NOT provide stream name variations (degree name vs. application); immediate cancellation.
  • Do NOT submit multiple applications (leads to outright disqualification).
