Salary & Benefits
Pay Level 13A (7th CPC): ₹1,31,100 – ₹2,16,600 per month
Allowances: DA, HRA, TA as per SETS norms (comparable to Central Government)
- Contract: Initial 5 years (extendable up to superannuation based on review)
- Probation: 1 year
- Other Benefits: Medical facilities, PF, pension under NPS, leave encashment, etc.
- Travel for interview: Outstation candidates called for interview get 2nd AC rail fare reimbursement.

NOT a Walk-in Contract basis (5 years)
Selection Process:
- Screening of applications by committee (shortlisting based on qualifications/experience)
- Shortlisted candidates called for Written Test and/or Interview (as decided by SETS)
- Final selection based on performance in interview/written test
Mere eligibility does not guarantee call for interview. Committee adopts its own criteria.
Eligibility Criteria (as on 06.04.2026)
Educational Qualification (Essential)
- B.E./B.Tech (ECE/CSE/IT/IS) with 60% marks OR Master's (CS/Maths/Statistics) with 60% marks.
Desirable Qualifications
- M.E./M.Tech/Ph.D in relevant fields (Embedded Systems, VLSI, Information Security, Quantum Computing etc.)
Experience
- 16 years R&D experience with solid foundations in cryptography & cyber security.
- For Deputation: additionally, 4 years in Level 13 (Scientist-E) or equivalent.
Age
- Direct: max 50 years | Deputation: max 56 years
- Higher qualification gives equivalent work experience credit (e.g., Ph.D. = 3–4 years off experience requirement).

For deputation candidates
Route application through parent org with APAR (4 years) & vigilance clearance (10 years).
Wait for shortlisting
Screening committee will shortlist; interview call by email.
Attend written test/interview
If shortlisted, appear at Chennai (TA reimbursable as per rules).
Fee exemption: SC/ST/PwD & Female candidates – no fee.
