Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- Essential: Three (3) years Diploma in Engineering in relevant discipline from recognized University/Institute
- Alternative: Bachelor's Degree (B.E./B.Tech) in the same discipline also acceptable
- For Depot Material Superintendent: Three years Diploma in Engineering in ANY discipline
- Discipline must match the post opted for (as per Annexure-A of official notification)
- Candidates must possess the qualification on or before the closing date (30 Nov 2025)
- Candidates waiting for final results are NOT eligible

- Create Account: If you don't have an RRB account, create one first (one-time registration with Email & Mobile)
- Authenticate Identity: Use Aadhaar or Digilocker for smooth verification (highly recommended)
- Choose RRB: Select ONLY ONE RRB (cannot be changed later). Choose based on your preferred location.
- Fill Application Form: Enter personal details, educational qualifications, choose posts/categories/railway zones in order of preference
- Upload Documents: Live photograph will be captured during application (no pre-existing photo needed). Upload signature (black ink, running handwriting, JPG format, 30-49 KB)
- Pay Application Fee: Pay online via Net Banking/Debit Card/Credit Card/UPI before 02 Dec 2025
- Submit Application: Review all details carefully and submit by 30 Nov 2025, 11:59 PM
- Save Application Number: Note down Registration Number and take printout for future reference

Salary & Allowances
- Pay Level: Level 6 in 7th CPC Pay Matrix
- Initial Basic Pay: Rs 35,400 per month
- Pay Range: Rs 35,400 - Rs 1,12,400 (with annual increments)
- Allowances: DA (Dearness Allowance), HRA (House Rent Allowance), TA (Transport Allowance)
- Other Benefits: Medical facilities, Gratuity, Pension (NPS), Leave Travel Concession (LTC), Free/Concessional Railway Passes
- Training Period: During training, stipend will be paid as per rules
Important Instructions
- Single RRB Only: Candidates can apply to ONLY ONE RRB. Multiple applications will be rejected.
- Live Photo Mandatory: Live photograph captured during application using webcam/mobile camera (no upload of old photos)
- Signature Format: Running handwriting (cursive/joined letters) in black ink on white paper, NOT block/capital letters
- Modification Window: Corrections allowed from 03-12 Dec 2025 with Rs 250 fee per modification (Email, Mobile, RRB cannot be changed)
- Free Travel for SC/ST: Free sleeper class railway pass for CBT, DV, and ME stages (on request)
- PwBD Candidates: Scribe facility available. Must register scribe separately. 20 minutes extra time per hour.
- No Belongings at Exam Center: Cloakroom NOT available. Do not bring valuables, mobile phones, bags, etc.
- Banned Items: Mobile phones, calculators, watches, Bluetooth devices, pens, books, water bottles, food items
- Normalization: Marks will be normalized for CBTs held in multiple shifts
- Medical Fitness: Candidates must be medically fit as per prescribed standards for opted posts
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Q1. Can I apply to multiple RRBs?
Answer: No. Candidates can apply to ONLY ONE RRB. Multiple applications will lead to rejection of all applications and debarment.
Q2. Is B.Tech acceptable instead of Diploma?
Answer: Yes. Higher qualifications such as B.E./B.Tech are acceptable in lieu of 3-year Diploma in the same discipline.
Q3. Can I change my chosen RRB after submission?
Answer: No. Once RRB is chosen and application submitted, it cannot be changed under any circumstances.
Q4. When will CBT-I exam be conducted?
Answer: CBT-I dates will be announced on official RRB websites. Expected in December 2025 - January 2026.
Q5. Is there negative marking in CBT exams?
Answer: Yes. 1/3rd mark (0.33 marks) will be deducted for each wrong answer in both CBT-I and CBT-II.
Q6. Can I apply if I'm waiting for final year diploma results?
Answer: No. Candidates must possess the qualification on or before the closing date (30 Nov 2025). Those awaiting results are NOT eligible.
